While Vampire Weekend’s Modern Vampires of the City and Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories sit comfortably atop my list of favorite albums from 2013, no lead is safe while an Arcade Fire album looms on the horizon. The band has been dropping hints for the past couple weeks and this new trailer confirms that something will be happening on September 9 at 9pm. I’m assuming a new single will be released at that time but the whole affair remains cloaked in mystery.

The follow up to their 3rd LP The Suburbs is rumored to be called Reflektor and it was produced by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem. In a recent interview Murphy gave the following endorsement of Arcade Fire’s new album: “Its really fucking epic.”

I would expect nothing less.
