2014 was bonkers.

Here is a guide to my favorite music of 2014. I’ll be counting down my top 20 albums, top 40 songs as usual and I am also adding in a new category: podcasts. In addition to my rabid consumption of music, I got pretty hooked on a few podcasts this year so I’ll be counting down my top 5 shows. I’ve also decided to abandon the Honorable Mentions section for the yearly recap. If they are honorable enough, they will make the damn list.

I also want to say thank you to everyone who has supported A Compact Discography over the past year. I’ve been writing about music for the past 8 years and in 2014 this site saw a huge increase in traffic. I know I am just another music nerd writing on the Internet but I have been truly humbled to see traffic from thousands of visitors from all over the world. I can’t thank you enough for stopping by and checking out the site.
