Compact Culture is looking to expand. Currently all of our content comes from Eric Dern’s Smashcuts Film blog and my Compact Discography music blog but we believe Compact Culture can be bigger than just the two of us. Our vision for Compact Culture is simple: create a space where interesting people can write and read about their favorite corners of popular culture. Eric and I try to cover the best stuff out there but there are only so many hours in a day and a lot gets missed.
That’s where you come in.
If you have a passion for music, film, television, theater, literature, comics, sports, or fashion and you would like to write about it on consistent basis – you might just perfect for the Compact Culture team. We are hoping to find smart people who can commit to writing reviews or features four to eight times per month to help bolster Compact Culture’s reach. Even if you can’t make that kind of commitment but would still like for your writing to be featured on Compact Culture from time to time, let us know!
Eric and I believe in Compact Culture. We’re aspirational tastemakers with day jobs but we have an intense passion for the art that shapes our lives. We believe that criticism can be fun and illuminating, both to create and consume. We believe in the connective power of sharing and discussing a great film or a transformational album.
If you’re interested in joining Compact Culture, either as a featured writer or as a regular contributor – fill out this contact form and we will be in touch.
